A high-level look at the architectures that support OpenLaszlo applications will be given next week (March 20) at AJAXWorld Conference & Expo 2007 East by Adam Wolff (pictured), chief software architect of Laszlo Systems. In addition to demonstrations of some high-profile examples on the web today, Wolff will build a fairly complete example application from scratch. He'll also examine the workings of OpenLaszlo 4.0, which allows developers to create DHTML or Flash from a single source code base.
Wolff will conclude with a discussion of the pros and cons of each runtime environment, and the challenges of bridging the two with a single XML language and framework.
His role at Laszlo Systems is to oversee the technical development of the company's full range of products, including the OpenLaszlo application platform, Laszlo Mail, and Laszlo Webtop. Prior to Laszlo, he gained extensive experience delivering cutting-edge user interfaces from game design on the groundbreaking Rocket Science Game called "Obsidian" to interactive TV product design for Microsoft’s WebTV Division.
Wolff's session is one of eight consecutive OpenLaszlo sessions taking place in New York City on March 20 at AJAXWorld 2007 East in the world's first-ever dedicated Laszlo Track at a major technology conference.
Details of the other seven Laszlo Track sessions can be found here. And the entire conference program, including all details of the other five tracks, is here.
